BRONCKERS, CAROLINE
(AKA “DEE”)
As a photographer living in Buffalo NY,
both the urban and suburban landscape around me offer many
photo opportunities. Unoccupied and derelict factories,
warehouses, grain elevators, and industrial sites in this part
of the Rust Belt region contain extensive subject matter which
I use to create photographic art in these abandonments.
Many of these idle and forgotten spaces are
unique in their architecture and contents. To explore what has
been left behind, to see what many consider forsaken and
forlorn, to photograph these silent places – is truly a
unique experience. Objects, shapes, light, and textures
abound... I look for all of these details when I look through
the viewfinder.
I hope to capture the essence and spirit of
these deserted locations I visit, while creating a piece of art
that will intrigue the eye that is viewing it.
